The program uses best practices that include trauma informed care, motivational interviewing and harm reduction. Our ServicesWe offer men individual and group counseling, case management and family stabilization as well as access to the breadth of comprehensive services in our Health Center and Child and Family Services divisions. Through an alumni network, participants stay connected with peers to provide ongoing encouragement and sharing of experiences to aid their recovery. Former participants in the program find this ongoing support particularly valuable as they progress with their recovery while gradually advancing in their personal and professional goals. Thank you for considering supporting our mission as we work together to break cycles of domestic violence, building a safer, healthier Lowcountry for all. We're honored to continue providing critical, life-changing domestic violence survival programs in our forty-third year of service to South Carolina's Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley Counties.

Women's Shelters

As Christ encountered and healed the sick, He calls us to accompany individuals and their families during challenging or difficult times of life. With respect and genuine love, our service is carried out in a family atmosphere that is joyful, compassionate, and filled with life-giving creativity. Through our life of prayer, together with professional excellence, our service promotes healing in sickness, patience in infirmity, and hope in the final hours of life. Founded in 2014, the charity supports any self-identifying women with multiple disadvantages, offering wrap-around support, specialising in domestic abuse, wellbeing and welfare. In 2015 My Sisters’ House supported 28 clients, but by 2023 this increased dramatically to 1756 new clients (on top of existing ones), showing the escalation of need within the West Sussex community.

Programs & Services

To serve Asian and Pacific Islander and other underserved women and children impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking by providing a culturally appropriate and responsive safe haven, job training, and community services. Families enter the program having experienced significant trauma, in some cases dating back to the women’s own childhoods. Case managers help each woman develop her plan and find the critical resources she’ll need to move on to permanent housing, advance her education, secure employment and access services for her children. The program also offers an Alumni group, which meets on a monthly basis providing peer-to-peer and relapse prevention support. The  Department of Public Health’s Bureau of Substance Abuse Services, the City of Boston’s Department of Neighborhood Development and private donations support the program. Women’s Renewal-Clinical Stabilization Services at Dimock provides intensive clinical services for up to 20 women from one to four weeks, addressing the complex needs of women in early recovery.

The program supports women who have ongoing issues with substance use, mental health and trauma by offering structure, comprehensive support and, most importantly, hope. The program creates a “Healing Community,” using best practices including trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, music, art, yoga and other expressive therapies. The mission of My Sister's House (MSH) is to support victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through advocacy, shelter, community outreach, and education. My Sister's House relies on the generous support of our Lowcountry community to continue offering free, confidential domestic violence survival services in Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley Counties. Through no fault of her own, every day hundreds of single women are forced into homelessness in Charlotte. This may be a result of many events including sudden unemployment, drug abuse, recent release from incarceration, domestic violence or untreated mental health issues.

Victims who are in immediate danger from verbal, emotional, physical, or sexual abuse are eligible to receive emergency shelter at no charge. At My Sister's House, we are committed to a shared mission to break cycles of domestic violence by providing comprehensive support, services, and education to our clients and community. Your monetary donation will help My Sister's House to provide culturally-competent services to women and children impacted by domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault. Our ServicesDuring their time in the program, women are given the space and support to regroup, reflect and refocus their lives. Each week, women receive individual clinical and group therapies that focus on developing effective coping skills and understanding the complex nature of addiction.

The Program Director oversees a skilled team of Master’s level clinicians, care coordinators, direct care and administrative staff. Women’s Renewal is funded by the  Department of Public Health’s Bureau of Substance Abuse Services and third party insurance (Neighborhood Health Plan, Beacon Health and Network Health). Women’s Renewal welcomes women receiving methadone and/or suboxone as part of a medical assisted treatment program, and women who are pregnant. The 12 riders this year champion everything the race sets out to achieve and are a truly inspirational line-up. Most of the women are complete novice riders within horseracing having never ridden a racehorse until their training had begun.

Santa Teresita was established in 1930 as a tuberculosis sanatorium for young women and girls. Today, Santa Teresita serves our cherished elders, offering a continuum of care that includes assisted living and skilled nursing. The purpose of our retreats is to provide an opportunity for guests to have the silence, solitude and spiritual guidance they need in order to deepend their prayer life. We are committed to securing retreat masters who are loyal to the Church and treasure its magisterium.
